Today is the 196th birthday of Confederate Brigadier General Bradley Johnson. Born right here in Frederick, Maryland. The Johnson's were a prominent family and Bradley graduated from both Princeton and Harvard Law prior to the Civil War. At the opening of the war, Johnson raised a small company of soldiers, the "Palmetto Flag Boys", in Frederick before fleeing to Virginia.
