Ferritin is the storage form of iron, and low ferritin levels are common in people who struggle with energy, mood, brain fog, and hair loss! Iron is needed to carry thyroid hormone into cells, so people with low ferritin often have thyroid symptoms despite taking meds (unless they’re on T3-containing meds, which can somewhat bypass the system)! Low ferritin can also cause adrenal issues and elevated reverse T3. I often speak to people who take iron supplements, but don’t see their levels rise. T

Switching from Levothyroxine to NDT (natural desiccated thyroid) medication. I’m a T3 girly 😅 I don’t convert T4 well.
