His version feels more like the stern older brother to Tony as opposed to the best friend. Cheadle's Rhodes isn't going to get down and party with strippers with Tony. He's too serious and too much of a dork to ever do that.

Jun 30, 2020 · That last line from Cheadle definitely feels like the show writers trying to "both sides" it though. Considering that it was 1988, I'm not surprised. I grew up watching this show in the 80's, which, when I think about it, is such a weird show for an 8 year old black kid to watch, but I thought it hilarious even then, and still holds up now.
