With Gordon opting out of his player option and re-signing to a one-year minimum deal, he lowered his cap hit from $3.4 million to around $2.3 million for the Sixers.

Now, that possibility is a reality. The Sixers have officially announced that they have re-signed Gordon on a deal. He was limited to only 39 games in the 2024-25 season as he underwent wrist surgery, but he averaged 6.8 points, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 rebounds while shooting 40.9% from deep.

A source told PhillyVoice that Eric Gordon declining his player option to enter free agency would not preclude him from re-signing with the Sixers. He will indeed be back.
