Ice pick-wielding man shot, killed by Warren police
WARREN, MI – An ice pick-wielding man was shot and killed by police officers in Warren. The shooting occurred near George Merrelli Drive and Lorna Avenue at 10:15 p.m. on Monday. Officers had tracked the suspect to the area after he fled a residence on Railroad Street following an alleged domestic dispute.
Police said when he was found, he pulled out an ice pick. In response, an officer shot the man. He was taken to a local hospital by the Warren Fire Department and died from his injuries.
