Chelsea make Ajax defender Jorrel Hato their eighth summer signing as Everton eye Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tyler Dibling.

Five of the top ten biggest Ajax transfers have been defenders, the five of them leaving for the Premier League: Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus, €85m), Lisandro Martínez (Man Utd, €57m), Jorrel Hato (Chelsea, €45m), Davinson Sánchez (Spurs, €42m) and Jurrien Timber (Arsenal, €40m)

Chelsea have signed 19-year-old defender Jorrel Hato from Ajax, the club announced on Sunday. Hato will join the Premier League club in a deal worth €46.5 million ($53m) excluding bonuses, sources told ESPN NL. Chelsea said Hato signed a long-term deal that will keep with the club until 2032 and will join up with his new teammates later this week.
