France will host the next G7 summit at the Alpine spa resort town of Evian-les-Bains in June 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday, vowing to keep unity and work closely with trusted partners to weigh more on the world.

Six of the Group of Seven leaders have discussed Russia’s war in Ukraine and international cooperation on key, non-military issues, wrapping up a summit that was forced to try and demonstrate how the wealthy nations’ club still can shape world events despite the early departure of U.

President Trump left the summit in Canada as the Israeli-Iranian conflict entered a fifth day. He had resisted signing an earlier draft of the G7 statement.
