The 2025 College Baseball World Series rolled along on Monday with a pair of Bracket 2 games in Omaha. In the opening matchup, Arkansas defeated Murray State 3-0 in an elimination game behind a no-hitter by Gage Wood to keep its title hopes intact.

Wood completed the first no-hitter in CWS history since 1960 on Monday vs. Murray State. It was the third ever no-hitter in the history of the event. On top of that, Wood's 19 strikeouts are the most in a single CWS game in history, as well as a career high. Talk about an incredibly impressive outing.
But in nearly 80 years of the men's College World Series, no pitcher has ever thrown a perfect game in Omaha. In fact, no pitcher has even gotten through six perfect innings since way back in 1999. Which makes sense, considering the level of competition in Omaha and the caliber of hitter the event has seen over the years.
