The update’s announcement trailer came from Microsoft’s ID@Xbox game showcase, and included another reveal: Balatro is now officially available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, to the surprise of everyone. Its arrival was not revealed in Xbox’s usual monthly Game Pass updates, but it’s a welcome surprise nonetheless.

Well, us Xbox players had a good run, didn’t we? For a good few years, we’ve been able to sample a huge number of different games thanks to the superb Game Pass subscription service, many of which we may never have given a chance otherwise.

Balatro is now available for free to those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, be they console or PC players. This comes alongside the Friends of Jimbo 4 pack, which features a ton of cameos from Assassin's Creed to Critical Role.
