Arizona Baseball's College World Series (CWS) run has come to an end in Omaha after losing to the Louisville Cardinals in an elimination game Sunday afternoon.
Louisville Cardinals baseball won an NCAA CWS elimination baseball game vs Arizona. Three takeaways from UofL baseball's NCAA Tournament win:
Louisville not only avoids going 0-2 in the College World Series for the third time in six all-time trips, they also complete season sweep over Arizona. The Cardinals previously took down the Wildcats, 13-1 in eight innings, back on Feb. 16 down in Arlington, Texas for the Shriners Children's College Classic.
Arizona made it to Omaha all but one year from 1954-60 and won its three titles in the 1970s and 1980s across five CWS appearances. After missing it 17 consecutive times between 1987 and 2003, the Wildcats returned to the CWS in 2004, marking their first of five appearances this century. Four of those trips have come since 2012.
Miami (25), Florida State (24), Arizona State (22), USC (21), LSU (20) and Oklahoma State (20). But while Arizona may still trail Arizona State in total College World Series appearances,
