Two schools were evacuated after a crash led to a gas leak Tuesday afternoon.  The Tony Clement Center for Education on Elk Street and the Brighter Choice Charter School on North Lake Avenue were told to evacuate after a crash around 2 p.

North Lake Avenue between Sherman Street and Clinton Avenue is closed.A NewsChannel 13 crew on the scene says a car crashed into a building.There are also reports of a gas leak, according to Albany Police.

Crews are currently responding to a car crash and gas leak in Albany, according to a Facebook post by the city’s police department.

A vehicle crash at 117 N. Lake Avenue led to a natural gas leak, prompting the evacuation of nearby schools and residences.
