Google is rolling out Gemini’s Personal Intelligence, a memory upgrade that connects your apps so the AI can deliver more personal answers.
Google’s Gemini AI is getting what could prove to be a very big upgrade: To help answers from Gemini be more personalized, the company is going to let you connect the chatbot to Gmail, Google Photos, Search, and your YouTube history to provide what Google is calling “Personal Intelligence.”

Personal Intelligence is off by default, as users have the option to choose if and when they want to connect their Google apps to Gemini.
Gemini will cite when it uses your personal data. If the personalized answer isn’t what you want, you can re-run any output without personalization. You may also use temporary chats to get the standard Gemini output without using your account data. Disabling access to one or all data sources in the settings is also always an option.
Ads in AI Overviews are already performing at "about the same rate" as traditional search ads, according to Google's VP of global ads, Dan Taylor.

According to Google, Gemini will not train directly on the data it pulls for personalization like your photos and emails, but will instead train on your prompts and its responses. Users can also prompt Gemini to "try again" without personalization and will have the option to delete chat histories.
