A 25-year-old woman from Florida gave birth on a W train in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning. She had been missing since last summer, her sister said.

A woman gave birth on board a New York City subway Wednesday, the MTA says. It happened around 11:30 a.m. on a southbound W train in Manhattan. According to the MTA, multiple passengers alerted the conductor that a woman inside a train car had just given birth.

A pregnant woman gave birth while on a subway train in Manhattan, according to officials. The 25-year-old went into labor while she was aboard an uptown W train at the 34th Street Herald Square stop around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the MTA said.

EMS was called to the 34th St. station of the M, N, Q, R, and W trains just before 11:40 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson told the Daily News, and brought mother and baby to a nearby hospital.

Births are rare on New York City's transit system, but not unheard of. In 2012, Wanda Dueno, 24, went into labor on the J train near Chambers Street and gave birth to a baby boy. And in January 1993, 21 year old Vida Boateng gave birth to a baby girl at the Wall Street subway station on the 3 line.
