Holi, the annual colorful festival that marks the end of winter and beginning of spring, will be celebrated later this month across North Jersey.

Indians are gearing up to mark the festival of colors Holi on Friday, with markets buzzing with shoppers buying bright powdered colors and traditional sweets associated with the festival selling at a brisk pace ahead of the joyful annual celebration.

Spring’s arrival may be uncertain after the groundhog’s prediction, but Holi, the Hindu festival of colors, which takes place March 14 this year, brings a vibrant promise: a fresh start, community joy and a chance to leave negativity behind.

A grand celebration of Holi is set to take place in Swindon. The Swindon Hindu Centre is hosting the vibrant festival at the Town Gardens Bowl on Sunday, March 16, from 12pm to 4pm. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend,
