The estate of Superman co-creator and Cleveland native Joe Shuster has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Comics that could disrupt the studio’s plans to release its new “Superman” film in July.

The estate of one of Superman's co-creators has filed a copyright lawsuit in a U.S. court against Warner Bros. Discovery ahead of the release of its new movie, "Superman," part of a planned reboot of the DC Comics superhero film franchise.

The lawsuit claims that Warner Bros. Discovery does not have the rights to release the upcoming Superman movie in certain territories.

Discovery and DC Films are readying Superman, a new movie starring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. Give or take some complaints about Clark Kent's flying face, the trailer went over very well and the hype is high.
