Android 17 could eliminate the hassle of remembering SIM PINs by automatically entering them after you unlock your device, while still protecting your SIM on other phones.

We previously uncovered evidence of an automatic SIM lock protection feature coming to Android, and we've now got a first look at the option.

With biometrics disabled, users can still make verification processes via old-school methods – such as OTP-based authentication via registered mobile numbers or Virtual ID (VID).
