South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and will lead the Department of Homeland Security

A committee of South Dakota lawmakers voted 4-3 to endorse a bill Thursday in Pierre that would require public school districts to teach the Ten Commandments and display them in every classroom. The vote came after an hour of testimony that included opposition from public school groups. The legislation now heads to the full state Senate.

The bipartisan Trust in Congress Act prohibits members of Congress and their families from trading individual stocks during their time in office.

If passed, the bill, Senate Bill 51 would make it mandatory for the Ten Commandments, and other founding documents, to be displayed in publicly funded elementary, middle and high schools.

South Dakota won a share of its first Missouri Valley Football Conference championship and played in its first FCS semifinal in 2024.

Goedert and South Dakota State finished a combined 37-16 during his four played seasons of his collegiate career. He advanced to the FCS semifinals in his final collegiate season, the quarterfinals in his redshirt junior season, the first round as a redshirt sophomore and the second round as a redshirt freshman.
