BORISOVSKY TRAINING GROUND, Belarus and LONDON -- Russia put on a display of firepower as part of its major military exercises in Belarus on Monday, with neighboring NATO nations on alert amid some of the highest tensions in Europe since Moscow began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Russia on Monday warned it would go after any European state that sought to take its assets after reports that the European Union is looking for new ways to leverage hundreds of billions of dollars of frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.

Crew members aboard the Admiral Golovko, a frigate with the Northern Fleet, fired a Zircon missile at a sea target in the Barents Sea, Russia's government said on Sunday. The Admiral Golovko has been known to carry Zircon missiles for several years.

NATO is "at war with Russia" over Ukraine, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir President has said. " NATO is at war with Russia. This is obvious, and it does not require any additional evidence," Dmitry Peskov told reporters, state-run news agency RIA Novosti reported. "NATO is de facto involved in this war."

The Russian Foreign Ministry has praised India for continuing its cooperation with Moscow despite pressure from US President Donald Trump, saying any attempt to damage ties with New Delhi is bound to fail.
