After two seasons with Michigan State football and losing his starting job this fall, quarterback Aidan Chiles plans to re-enter the transfer portal.

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State University Board of Trustees formally approved the hiring of Pat Fitzgerald during its Dec. 12 meeting. Fitzgerald, who was the Northwestern University head football coach from 2006-2023, was announced as the next Spartan coach on Monday, Dec. 1. The board's vote finalizes the process.

This was the first time this season that Michigan State came up on the wrong side of the scoreboard, dropping to 8-1 overall on the year.
