Israeli police have shot and killed a Palestinian man after he rammed a vehicle into a crowd at a bus station, injuring several people in what authorities are calling a suspected terror attack.

A ramming attack at a bus stop in northern Israel on Thursday injured seven people, one of them critically, Israeli medics said. Israeli police said the suspected attacker had nationalistic motivations and was a Palestinian from Jenin in the north of the Israeli-occupied West Bank who was married to an Israeli citizen.

A driver in Israel plowed into a bus station, injuring at least eight people in what police suspect was a truck ramming attack.

Israeli attacks are angering Syrians and unsettling the country’s new leaders, who are dealing with multiple crises after the end of Bashar al-Assad’s rule.

Israel this week conducted a fresh wave of airstrikes on southern Syria, just a day after Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for an Israel-controlled “security zone” in the south of the country.
