Weeks after WrestleMania the stars of the WWE will put titles on the line at Backlash Tampa. WrestleMania is over, and a brand new year of wrestling is underway in the WWE, starting with Backlash in Tampa, Florida.

That is when Ricky Saints' entrance music hit, and SmackDown's newest star walked to the ring. He insulted the crowd a bit before focusing on the champion. He said Rhodes is barely hanging on and his title reigns have aged him 30 years.

SmackDown's scenery is getting an update. Last week, former two-time NXT women's champion Jacy Jayne made her main roster debut. Fatal Influence, which includes Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, laid out half the women's division, leading to a match on Friday between Jayne and Charlotte Flair.

SmackDown newcomers Fatal Influence left their mark in their debut last week when they laid waste to Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, as well as Brie Bella and Paige during their women’s Tag Title match.

On May 1, the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will host WWE SmackDown, broadcast live at 8 PM ET. The event is poised to enhance the excitement leading up to Backlash 2026, with new matches expected.
