South Carolina continues its trend of being the fastest growing state in the nation, according to data released by the Census Bureau. South Carolina’s population grew by 79,958 between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2025. That's 1.5% increase.

2024 database with 2020 census data released
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WVNS) – The U.S. Census Bureau has unveiled the 2024 Planning Database (PDB). According to a press release, the PDB incorporates 2020 Census operational data, such as the Low Response Score (LRS).
U.S. Census estimates showed Illinois lost residents to 32 states and Washington, D.C. – virtually all to lower-tax states.
