First big storm of winter will drop heavy rain in San Diego County late Thursday night
The first significant storm of winter will drop heavy rain across much of San Diego County from roughly 9 p.m. to midnight Thursday and produce showers Friday, temporarily easing the threat of wildfires but doing comparatively little to lift precipitation to seasonal levels, the National Weather Service said.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A spell of rainy, blustery weather is rolling into the San Diego area Wednesday as an incoming winter storm gains strength, according to meteorologists. Cloudier, cooler and windier conditions are likely through the day Wednesday, with increasing chances for mostly light precipitation, the National Weather Service advised.
On Thursday at 2 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the NWS San Diego CA valid from 10 p.m. until Friday 10 a.m.
