In a barnburner of a hockey game, the Philadelphia Flyers overcame multiple deficits to ultimately defeat the St. Louis Blues via shootout, 6-5 (1-0), at Enterprise Center on Friday night.

Entering the night, the Flyers ranked 30th in the NHL with 2.56 goals per game. They blew that number out of the water on Friday.

Kyrou made it 1-0 at 1:19 of the first period when he intercepted Zegras’ pass in the neutral zone, skated into the right circle and beat Ersson with a snap shot to the blocker side. Zegras tied it 1-1 at 8:18 after the Flyers caught the Blues on a 3-on-2, with Zegras beating Binnington from the slot between the pads.

The St. Louis Blues beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 in what came to be a rare thriller situation for the Flames in the Gateway to the West.
