Orcabessa Bay is a small town in the Saint Mary Parish, located in the northeast part of the island. It is home to 7,000 people. The town also houses the GoldenEye Villa, a retreat that previously was the private home and beach of Ian Fleming, a British author best known for creating the James Bond series.
The NHC warned that Melissa is expected to bring between 15 and 30 inches (38.1cm to 76.2cm) of rain to Jamaica and southern Hispaniola, with a maximum of up to 40 inches (101.6cm). Eastern Cuba is expected to receive between 10in (25.4cm) and 15in (38.1cm) of rainfall.
