The training, called The EPIC Leadership Program, is crafted specifically for emerging leaders, regardless of whether they are new to their company or have been established for years.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The EPIC Leadership program is about to launch a new season, preparing future leaders with the skills and professional development training to succeed in their workplace.

While the department says the EPIC program will be required training for new recruits in the academy, they're hoping other agencies across the country follow suit.

The Baltimore Police Department is launching a new peer intervention program that trains officers to intervene in problematic situations to prevent mistakes and police misconduct.

TMCC's Epic program is offering wilderness survival training to the community. Epic stands for "education programs inspiring the community".

Epic new hire training classes were quickly converted into virtual learning events. In addition, fast-track float training was created to quickly educate floating to new assignments.

EPIC was developed by a social psychologist, Ervin Staub, after the beating of Rodney King in Los Angeles. This program is designed to change police culture to prevent misconduct of all kinds.

It is currently training pilots through the EPIC program, as well as the Initial Flight Training program. "It's great to fill that role as the first female," Courtney said.
