The Cowboys, Detroit Lions
Digest more
The Dallas Cowboys could be without two of their top players when they take on the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football in Week 14.
Mekhi Wingo: Prolonged recovery from reported meniscus injury (November 2024) with surgery. Had follow-up scope in offseason. Played a lot of snaps in Week 2 which was his only appearance of the season, then a gameday inactive since. Lack of playing time could be performance-related, but residual effects from knee injury are possible.
If the Lions are going to keep their playoff push alive on Thursday night, they’ll have to do it the hard way — with star power on the sideline, a secondary in shambles and their offensive anchors taped together.

Shocking Cowboys-Lions Final injury report: Diggs, St. Brown, Sewell updates
The Cowboys are looking for their fourth-straight win, but they do have a couple injury concerns. Not to the level of Detroit, however.
The Detroit Lions listed four players out and seven questionable on the final injury report ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football inside Ford Field.
While this injury is unusual, it may be the second one in 5 years for the Lions. Recall that in 2020, Frank Ragnow had a throat cartilage fracture that caused him to miss 2 games. Wright's injury may be similar. The good news here is that it isn't a spinal issue, which is always a possibility with a "neck" listing.

Cowboys-Lions Initial Injury Report: Practice window opens for $12M defender
On Sunday, the Cowboys activated Diggs' 21-day practice window, a clear indication he is soon to return to the field. Diggs is making $9.5 million in cash this season with a cap hit of just over $12 million. He's appeared in just 19 games since signing a $97 million extension prior to the 2023 season.
The Dallas Cowboys have a few notable players listed on the first injury report against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In need of safety help, the Lions are signing Damontae Kazee to the team’s practice squad, hoping to elevate him soon.
