ATLANTA — Trader Joe’s announced they’re limiting customers to purchasing a limit of one dozen eggs per day, due to the shortage caused by avian flu. A spokesperson said this will help stores prevent having their shelves go bare.

As a result, Trader Joe's and Lidl U.S. are among the several grocery stores limiting how many eggs shoppers can buy.

Trader Joe's has added a limit to how many eggs shoppers can purchase at all of its stores as bird flu shortages increase. Why it matters: The bird flu has affected at least 23 million birds in the last 30 days,
