Triple-digit heat is forecast across much of California next week, with temperatures above 110 degrees possible in the hottest spots.
California is one of five places on Earth that has a Mediterranean climate. The other four are the Mediterranean Sea, Central Chile, the western Cape of South Africa, and western and southern Australia.
