Johnny Beecher was claimed off waivers by the Calgary Flames on Tuesday. The 24-year-old forward was a first-round pick of the Bruins in 2019 and spent just over two seasons in Boston. Beecher had one goal through six games this year, and 11 points (three goals, eight assists) through 78 games in the 2024-25 campaign.
The Franklin native appeared in three games for the Bruins this season, and will likely see time in the lineup after Charlie McAvoy's injury.
UCLA owns the all-time series with a 3-0 record. The two programs first matched up on Dec. 23 of the 2005-06 season, and again during the 2013-15 season. The Bruins won the first clash, 86-56, and the second, 86-50.
