With just hours to go before Virginia’s statewide primary, Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor and attorney general have been saturating the airwaves with aggressive ads targeting President Donald Trump.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey is expected to give updates on flooding response in Fairmont on Monday. Multiple roads in Marion County were under water on Sunday, and an apartment complex partially collapsed due to high water.
"Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring," the NWS has reported.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey traveled to another West Virginia county under a state of emergency Monday after weekend storms dumped record-breaking rain, causing severe flash flooding and resulting in at least six deaths.
Both of West Virginia’s U.S. Senators have issued statements after extreme flash flooding struck the northern part of the state over Father’s Day weekend.
A West Virginia Sheriff’s Office said they have received reports of fake GoFundMe pages and reports of non local organizations collecting money. The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office says they have received reports of fake GoFundMe pages and other non-local organizations collecting money on the internet.
Showers and storms will move through this evening. A few severe storms are possible, along with flash flooding.
First responders rescued several people during the flash flood in the Fairmont area on Father’s Day, and two of the moments were captured on camera by bystanders.
