SALT LAKE CITY – In a tight battle, the Utah Mammoth fell to the New York Islanders in overtime, 3-2. JJ Peterka and Dylan Guenther (PPG) scored for Utah in the loss.

The Utah Mammoth host the New York Islanders after the Islanders took down the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime.

New York Islanders rookie Matthew Schaefer broke a record set by future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby with an OT goal against the Utah Mammoth.

On Friday night, the Utah Mammoth got their first look at the New York Islanders, the other team that shared a lottery draft win with them, and who were able to draft prized prospect Matthew Schaefer first overall.

Any team could have lost on the road to a team as good as the Montreal Canadiens. After all, this team is one of the hottest and most exciting in the league right now, despite being one of the youngest.
