President Donald Trump threatens tariffs on European allies at Davos World Economic Forum as tensions rise over trade deals and his demands to acquire Greenland from Denmark.
Trump told World Economic Forum attendees he would not use force to acquire Greenland, while talking up his ability to negotiate through tariff threats. "You can say yes, and we will be very appreciative, or you can say no and we will remember," Trump said in the hourlong Jan. 21 speech.
During a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Trump again made his case to make Greenland a U.S. territory.
Donald Trump's speech addressed topics like Greenland, windmills, NATO, and shifting global power.
Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland, so Iceland’s already cost us a lot of money.”
Trump told an audience in Davos on Wednesday that a possible purchase of the semi-autonomous territory should not be seen as a threat to Nato.
