The Education Authority (EA) received 154 reports of damage to school buildings.

Two schools will be closed tomorrow (January 27) after damage from Storm Éowyn. St Benedict's Catholic High School in Whitehaven said the building, which is also home to Mayfield School, sustained damage to its roof and has to be inspected before it can be deemed safe for students and staff to return.

Several schools and nurseries will remain closed next week due to Storm Eowyn damage. Hillhead Primary School and Early Years Centre Closure will be closed on Monday, January 27 due to significant damage to the school's roof.

A further yellow wind warning stretching from the south coast up to north east England is in place from 10pm on Sunday until 7am on Monday, while a rain warning covering southern and central England and Wales is in place until 6am on Monday. Another rain warning over most of Wales will remain in place until 11:59pm on Monday.
