Since Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, died in 2018 from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at 65, the Seahawks and NBA's Trail Blazers have been owned by his sister, Jody. The estate agreed in September to sell the Trail Blazers to an investment group led by Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon.

Allen bought the Seahawks in 1997 for $194 million and kept the team in Seattle. Under his stewardship, they built Lumen Field and the Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014.

Coming into Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, very few NFL players can say they have had a better 2025 season than Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

It's been a season of super positives in the Pacific Northwest.
