Lost in much of the trade noise was the Spurs landing star guard De'Aaron Fox. Fox now pairs alongside second-year sensation Victor Wembanyama to give San Antonio a legitimate star duo.

Through all of the noise, the Houston Rockets stayed relatively quiet, making two minor moves. The first was exchanging second-round picks with the Boston Celtics, as Jaden Springer was the only player involved in the deal. He would eventually be waived, per Mike Scotto of HoopsHype.

But it has certainly been consequential, and I think ESPN analyst Bobby Marks summed it up adequately on the network’s NBA coverage this morning when he said, “The trade deadline is the new free agency.
