Executives around baseball are surprised that the New York Yankees and Cody Bellinger haven't reached an agreement.
The MLB offseason continues with several trades. Here’s the latest update from the Yankees, Marlins, and Red Sox.
In a trade with the Miami Marlins, the Yanks acquired lefty Ryan Weathers in exchange for a package of minor league prospects highlighted by outfielder Dillon Lewis. Weathers, 26 is the son of former big-league reliever David Weathers, who won a World Series ring with the 1996 Yankees and later pitched with the Mets during his 19-year MLB career.
The Cardinals and Diamondbacks have completed a trade that sends Nolan Arenado to Arizona. The Cardinals also included cash considerations in the deal and got back minor-league right-hander Jack Martinez in the trade.
The inaugural broadcast will take place Wednesday, March 25, when the Yankees host the San Francisco Giants. The matchup will feature slugger Aaron Judge against Giants star Rafael Devers, marking the first time a regular-season MLB game is carried live on Netflix.
MLB trade rumors continue to swirl as the Los Angeles Dodgers are linked to Steven Kwan and Freddy Peralta has top suitors lined up.
Cody Bellinger played for the Yanks last season and he was impressive. Hence, other teams are trying to land him. More specifically, it’s the Yankees’ city nemesis, the New York Mets. Now, it seems like Bellinger would rather stay on the Bronx Bombers before leaving, but the length of the contract is still an issue.
The New York Yankees' hopes of potentially landing Kyle Tucker have received a crushing update in free agency.
