Michigan is having discussions about kicking off the 2026 football season against Western Michigan in Germany. The school announced Friday on social media that it is seeking to play at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt on Aug.

The University of Michigan and Western Michigan University will reportedly open the 2026 college football season with a game in Frankfurt, Germany.

Michigan is expected to start its 2026 football season across the pond in Frankfurt, Germany in a matchup vs. Western Michigan, On3's Brett McMurphy reported. This would be the Wolverines' first international game in program history.
