The town of Middleborough is taking the commonwealth of Massachusetts to court, saying it's being unfairly penalized for not complying with the MBTA Communities Act. "The governor's office expects nothing but absolute and blind compliance without dialogue and without fair process," Middleborough Town Manager James McGrail said.

The Town of Middleborough filed a lawsuit in Plymouth Superior Court over its alleged “noncompliance” with the MBTA Communities Act. The lawsuit names Gov. Maura Healey, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities as defendants.
