Jaykihn has listed three Nova Lake configurations that Intel is reportedly considering at the moment: 52 cores (16P + 32E + 4LPE), 28 cores (8P + 16E + 4LPE), and 16 cores (4P + 8E + 4LPE). The initial claim portrays the 52-core SKU as a dual 8P+16E design with four LPE cores (likely on the SoC Tile).

Compared to the Intel Arrow Lake-S CPUs, with the flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 285K equipped with eight P-cores and 16 E-cores, Nova Lake could significantly upgrade Intel's arsenal. It also stands to compete with the upcoming AMD Zen 6, which is set to offer 32 cores in total, as noted by Wccftech.

That's the purported core configuration right now, which may change - and the other question with Nova Lake is will it be Intel's next-gen desktop range?

Intel’s forthcoming “Nova Lake” desktop processors are gradually taking shape, with leaks suggesting they may feature a novel three-tier core design that could reach up to 52 total cores.

Apart from the release date, there was no further information on Nova Lake, except that, according to the Intel manager, the architecture will be used “for the entire PC portfolio”, i.e., from light notebooks to large desktop PCs. Panther Lake is probably only intended for notebooks.
