Hugh Freeze kept insisting how close Auburn was in each of its losses. While it may be true, his failure to win games cost him his job.

Auburn fired head coach Hugh Freeze on Sunday after posting a 44% win percentage (15-19) in just under three seasons on the job. Following the decision made by Auburn Athletic Director John Cohen, Freeze shared his final thoughts on his time on the Plains and sent a farewell message to fans and players on X.

Former Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback Jackson Arnold entered the transfer portal after a rough 2024 regular season at OU, and he quickly landed with Freeze and the Tigers. Arnold became Auburn's starter, and he played well for the first month or so of the season, but things spiraled for him after a 3-0 start.
