As far as William Eklund is concerned, the Sharks traded away a literal family member in Fabian Zetterlund. “He’s family for me, his family is my family. We hang out. We have Christmas together,” Eklund said Monday,

The San Jose Sharks made one of the most surprising moves of the 2025 Trade Deadline by sending forward Fabian Zetterlund to the Ottawa Senators in a last-minute deal.

Jake Walman, sent to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, roughly two weeks after his 29th birthday, gave the Sharks a veteran offensive defenseman who usually logged between 22 and 26 minutes per game. Zetterlund, 25, scored 24 goals last year and was nearly on the same pace this season.
