Photos of a child's bloody body, a black knife holder and other crime scene evidence took center stage Wednesday at the murder and hate crime trial for an Illinois landlord accused of fatally stabbing a 6-year-old Palestinian American boy in 2023.

Joseph Czuba, 73, is accused of fatally stabbing the 6-year-old and wounding the boy's mother, who were his tenants, after the Israel-Hamas war started in 2023.

Prosectors argued that the 2023 killing of Wadee Alfayoumi, 6, in suburban Chicago was motivated by anti-Muslim hate.
