The Houston Rockets' decision to hire Ime Udoka as their head coach in 2023 has proven to be an excellent one. Udoka took over a team that had gone 22-60 in 2022-23 and immediately helped turn things around.

As the Knicks' coaching search continues, The Athletic's Sam Amick reports that 2023 Coach of the Year Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins are believed to be targets. Both Brown and Jenkins were coaching at the beginning of the 2024-25 season, with Brown in Sacramento and Jenkins in Memphis.

There will be no shortage of candidates. Colleague Sam Quinn made the case for seven candidates that could be in the running, starting with recently fired Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone. But the Knicks may also have some interest in coaches who are already employed with other teams, and I'm not talking about assistants.
